Making the Green Leaves Vase

This next vase is 5 1/4" tall. I start by mixing a little copper clay into the chocolate. It will add a little sparkle in the finished design.

A piece of chocolate anyone? It does look almost like you could eat it.

My colors for the leaf cane are arranged, blended and rolled thin.

Here I make the leaf, starting with the rolled up blend and inserting the veins.

Now it's time to reduce and slice the cane.

So many leaves. I press each one onto the vase individually.

After 45 minutes of baking, I sand the leaves smooth, removing my fingerprint marks and any smearing. Then I cover the remaining glass with a green clay mixture and start adding the squiggles.

All trimmed.

Ready for that final baking...

...Baked and washed.
